Next commissioned heads (yes, plural)
Per Krexx, a single head sculpt is $95. A head and torso combo is $285.
There will be $45 received on the P:ARAH casts above and beyond the materials cost, after one in-process payment is made.
I am willing to front the remaining $50 for a head sculpt, with the hope/expectation that that cost will be recouped from selling casts, both from the new head as well as the remaining inventory of P:ARAH casts. And, I am willing to again cast these for the group here, and anyone else, at no cost except materials, with all net proceeds going to the next commission. Actually, there are leftover materials from the P:ARAH project, so materials should be a moot cost. $5 per head.
To get the ball rolling, I am planning to commission Krexx to do a BILLY swivel head to fit v1 Storm Shadow (we can modify to a ball joint for those who prefer). I'd like to get this going by the end of this weekend (July 17th). If we have a number of people who won't buy it, please say so now so we don't waste time on this one. Per Krexx, he can get this sculpt completed in a week. Giving me a week or two to knock out some casts, we could all have a new head cast in hand by the middle of next month!
Now, how about the next commission? I feel we should stick with another head until we build up enough money that we get comfortably close to the $285 for a head/torso combination. Further, it should be a head that fits an existing figure, or easily-assembled custom, for more appeal both here and with other customizers; the thought of paying for a random head that doesn't go with existing parts doesn't appeal to me. With that criteria, here are my suggestions. Please add your own, or say why any of the below shouldn't be done. Based on feedback, I'll get a poll going in the next couple weeks.
A lot of my suggestions are existing characters without their headgear. I'm not necessarily wed to that genre, but they are the most common characters to fit my suggested criteria of being easily added to an existing figure.
Joe Colton head with beard as seen in the Marvel comics.
Unmasked Storm Shadow as seen in Marvel comics.
Jinx Unmasked
Star Viper unmasked
Firefly as Red Master
Desade Paine
Vance Wingfield
Wet Suit unmasked (cartoon)
Airtight unmasked
Dr Knox - the Angel Forge blank female torso could work here (maybe?)
Barbecue unmasked, from the cartoon
Cartoon Cover Girl - swivel head to fit Cover Girl torso
Cartoon Night Creeper Leader

Re: Next commissioned heads (yes, plural)
I'm up for a Billy in any flavor (swivel or ball), and that SS fit is a perfect idea. Other than that, I'd like to see Torpedo, Wet Suit or Airtight. Those 3 guys are great in their specialties, but if you want to use them anywhere else, the head gear makes it tough. And I agree with building small successes like heads before going in on a figure kit again. Mostly because money is tight these days!
Re: Next commissioned heads (yes, plural)
Remember that we still have $30 bucks on krexx's pocket.
I would like to see more females first.

Is someone here holding the $30? Â Or has Krexx already received it?
Cyko, do you have an unmasked Torpedo pic handy? I couldn't easily find one when I was putting the original thread together.

I've got this mental image from the Marvel run, but I can't find anything online. The cartoon version could work in a pinch. Basically short hair and Hawaiian features. Here's a more recent image from IDW Special Missions #2 (which I haven't read, but Torpedo is on the cover).

Krexx has the $30 since when we paid for the female kit.

If you commission a Billy head Id buy at least 2 and probably closer to 5 if that helps Brian

I think it is easy for Krexx to produce both style necks from the same head.

Re: Next commissioned heads (yes, plural)
Well, Billy is a great choice I must add.
Torpedo is also one that should be top on that list.

How much would Billy cost?
I would be partial to Airtight and Vance.

We should be able to pull off $5 per head.

I could go for Billy with both pivot heck and ball joint neck
Be great if Airtight could fit the DTC body

The three that I'd definitely get are:
1) Billy
2) Blonde Cover Girl
3) Dr Knox

Re: Next commissioned heads (yes, plural)
I will support whatever is chosen but I'd be pretty excited about the unmasked Joe heads (BBQ, Airtight and Wetsuit) as well as Dr Knox. And I have been waiting for 25 years for a Night Creeper Leader!

I like the idea of making a head that would fit an existing figure.
No ideas though

Re: Next commissioned heads (yes, plural)
I'd vote for the Night Creeper Leader.
I like masked or visor-ed heads, easier to use for different factions because of less recognizable facial characteristics.
Vance Wingfield would be my second choice, Billy third.

You can make a rather passable head for NCL by cutting off and sanding down the cap bill on Rampart's head

Re: Next commissioned heads (yes, plural)
Billy update: Payment has been sent to Krexx. Now the hardest part: the wait.
Poll update for the next head: I'm content to wait until Billy is in hand to start an actual poll, if that sounds good to everyone. That will give everyone a chance to weigh in on what has been suggested so far, and make additional suggestions.

Great news! And that sounds good about building a list for the next decision.

Thank you Forcefull!
Is it a swivel neck or ball neck style?

I asked for a swivel neck to be done, but I will modify a ball neck when casting, so both will be available.

Re: Next commissioned heads (yes, plural)
That is great news Brian Id definitly get at least one of each so I can have a StormShadow version and use the ball neck to make a collectors club version.
