Beret Trooper
The last of our P:ARAH stuff. I tried to come up with a different paint scheme than the typical standard Cobra blue, but nothing quite seemed to fit, though I did come close to doing a desert tan. But, this guy seems built for Cobra blue.
I did the standard version using the P:ARAH head and torso.
Head and torso: P:ARAH cast
Arms: Stretcher
Waist & Legs: Eco Warrior Flint
Model Masters French Blue
Model Masters Neutral Grey
Craft Smart Black
Testors Red Acrylic
Apple Barrel White
While casting those P:ARAH parts for everyone, I tended to dump any excess resin into the Beret Trooper mold. Result? A lot of extra Beret Trooper Heads. So, might as well use them, right? Further, why not modify some extra swivel torsos and make them a little less recognizable? Result:
Head: P:ARAH cast
Torso: Tripwire with holster cast from Windchill's waist, and pockets from the Beret Trooper torso.
Arms: Windchill
Waist: Mercer '91
Legs: Low Light '91
Model Masters French Blue
Model Masters Neutral Grey
Craft Smart Black
Testors Red Acrylic
Testors Silver
Craft Smart Medium Brown
Apple Barrel White
Update 7/21/16
Head: P:ARAH cast
Chest grenades: Salvaged from a short-poured Dutch torso
Everything else: Thunder
Model Masters French Blue
Model Masters Neutral Grey
Craft Smart Black
Testors Red Acrylic
Testors Silver
Craft Smart Medium Brown
Apple Barrel White
And some WIPs:
I kinda like the loose theme. Everyone wears a beret, and has the same color scheme, but they aren't identical figures like other Cobra troop builders. I'm thinking they're some sort of mercenary group that Cobra hires from time to time, that don't get paid enough to dress identically! Code name? I don't know, I'm not that creative. For now, let's call them Fred, Harry, Jasper, Max, Ralph, Buddy, Mickey, and Willie.

Re: Beret Trooper
You are really making these guys work! Great ideas on all of them. But I'll admit, now you've got me wanting to try one in desert colors.
Re: Beret Trooper
Excellent work Brian Jealous you have yours all painted but I have some time off after moving some rooms around to let my step daughter move in and then bringing out the brushes Everything you did looks great

Re: Beret Trooper
Another group done. These will be the last for now. I'd still like to do one final figure with a modified HISS Driver torso, but I don't have a spare torso on hand at the moment.
When I started these, my intention was to modify torsos to go with the heads, rather than use production Hasbro torsos as-is, to add a bit of new feeling to the figures. But I couldn't figure out how to modify Mutt and Scrap Iron's torsos. So, they are not modified. But, I'd like to think the paint apps on Mutt's torso make it look different enough from the 1984 figure and his various repaints.
I also tried to vary the hair, skin, and mask colors to have no two heads be the same. Look close and you'll see one that has an impromptu scar through his eye, after I messed up his eye paint.

Re: Beret Trooper
Another one? Sure! Why not? Especially since I did up the Big Kev mold and consequently had another swivel torso available.
Head: P:ARAH cast
Torso: Big Kev cast
Arms: Windmill
Waist: Hawk '86
Legs: Crimson Guard Commander
