Project ARAH O-ring Parts Empty Project ARAH O-ring Parts

Post by cyko Wed Jul 15, 2015 4:59 pm

A few of us were once members at the Project ARAH, and we paid for parts we never received. Luckily, some of us got some of the parts! Let's get a list of what we've got and see what we might want to re-cast. There's still the cost of materials and shipping, but at least we'll feel some sense of closure by actually getting what we paid for in the first place!

cyko
Cobra Blue Beret Commando: head & torso
Dutch from "Predator": head & torso (*this head is an odd neck and really only fits this torso)
Billy from "Predator": head & torso (*barely started painting the torso)
Big Lob head (how could I forget?)
Big KEVS vest torso
Cool Breeze head & torso

veteranoftheplasticwars
Rambo: head & torso

Rambo
Ninja Force Snake Eyes: head & torso

Livevil
Poncho from "Predator" head
Dillon from "Predator" head
Hawkins from "Predator" head

Project ARAH O-ring Parts Empty Re: Project ARAH O-ring Parts

Post by LIVEVIL Wed Jul 15, 2015 8:24 pm

I've got the following items:

Poncho from "Predator" head*
Dillon from "Predator" head*
Hawkins from "Predator" head*

*According to Slayer Dave, these 3 heads each have their own individual torsos that go with them. I've never seen them. I received these from him at Slayer Con 2 and he told me at the time when he gave them to me that he was in the process of remaking their molds, which tells me that many copies of these parts were produced. Where they currently are and who ended up getting them is a mystery.

I'm so glad you got those! And you're okay sending them to Canada for veteranoftheplasticwars to have them re-cast? They sound pretty "one-of-a-kind".

I remember the pictures of those plus the torsos on his store. Too bad I didn't save them.

I'm looking very forward to casting these and getting them into the hands of the customizers and O-ring fans that want them.
(and to FINALLY build some new custom O-ring Joes Very Happy)

I paid for many of the listed parts and more from Project ARAH but never received them If they ever become available I sure would buy multiples of each and ever one of them. Keeping hope and my fingers crossed

What a wonderful list!

I'd love to have Blue Beret Commandos. Actually it looks like many people put money into the Slayer thingy that went awfully wrong. Is it possible to reach out all the members who had faith in Pythona and the other works?

If we can get everyone together who lost out on these and find those who have acquired one or two or more of the parts, I'm happy to cast them and get them out to everyone.
It would be awesome if someone out there had a Pythona to offer up for casting.
All parts, after casting, will be returned to who sent them along with casts so no one is ripped off.

Holy shit! I found a Cool Breeze head & torso in a bag of beret Commandos (my last order from Slayers)! That'll be a tough head to cast; the goggles are very 3D. But I'll send it with the rest of the stuff. I can't believe we can get this out there!

Hey Cyko. I cast with a pressure pot so the Cool Breeze head and torso won't be a problem at all. That's been one of my holy grail 0-Ring figures so I'd be very happy to get this one done.
I'll go through all my old Slayer parts tonight and see what other goodies are in there.
Thanks for all the help with this everyone.

I know! Just ran into a "Big KEVS vest" torso, too. I remember this order now; it was the one just before my Predator guys order (that I never got). Kev's torso has a very high neck, though; I'm not sure if any heads will actually fit this swivel neck. Fantastic details, and a working holster, too. I'll sent it to V. if someone might be interested.

And I'm psyched to hear a skilled casting guy is enthusiastic about all of this! Seriously, veteransoftheplasticwars, I don't know if you're ready for mass-retail (as massive as O-ring gets...), but this could salvage a little of our dignity from the old Project.

A couple of years ago I was working on a generic ball neck for 0-ring figures. You basically just cut off the neck at the height you wanted to attach it to the head. That might be a solution for the Big KEVS vest.

The Resolute Troopers were kindof like that. They were an O-ring torso with a neck post and ball joint top. So you could fit modern heads on it, too. The head they came with was screaming, with a mask on, and looked a bit odd to me. Guess I prefer blank looks on my ARAH styled figures.

Agreed. I never really liked the Joes or Cobras with facial expressions.
I always hated that the original Duke was smiling.

I didn't put into Pythona or any of the other Slayer works. Buy if someone offers a head or something that I can use I might help justify the effort into casting molds buy buying something, if it interests me

I also have a fair amount of existing heads and helmets I could donate to make cast molds off of if that interests anyone

I just traded my Dutch and Billy heads and torsos to Livevil. The knife on Billy's chest was broken though. I have some blue berret commandos that are painted as well.

Ill have to dig them all up but many are stuff like Spy Troop shelmets (Burnout motorcycle helmet, Grunts CLAWS helmet)

And new helmets from comic packs and 25th / movie (Which can still fit on Undeertow heads). Fairly utilitarian stuff

Maybe some Convention heads (Airviper, Interrogator)
