I've been toying with the idea of creating a news blog dedicated to all things related to o-ring GI Joe (figures, customs, reviews, cast parts, etc.)

The one thing that I have struggled with is a name for the site.  Any suggestions?

I like the idea of mobilestrikeforce.com because of the original GI Joe club:
(I can't post links yet, but you can find more information on yojoe's website)

I just don't know if the name says "GI Joe" enough, and gijoemobilestrikeforce.com might be a bit long.

Thoughts, ideas, suggestions?

And I would love to have anyone here that is interested help with the site.
I would also link to this forum for discussions.

Many thanks in advance!

That's an interesting idea! Someone told me recently they didn't think there was much to "report" regarding O-ring figures, but I'm seeing an upswing of people looking for something away from Facebook where they can just talk about the old figures. I have trouble sometimes keeping up with all the places to log in and check out!

  • Mike T has revived his blog Forgotten Figures where he randomly reviews figures, occasionally including behind-the-scenes details and discussion about the toy economy when they were produced.
  • Over at OG13.com, there's a very active (if sometimes rambling) O-ring Discussion thread where a dedicated group of folks log in daily to post.
  • YoJoe.com is slow these days, but the Toys 1982-1998 forum has a core group of people posting about O-ring figures. And lots of trolls looking to move collections.
  • JoeDios might seem like a ghost ship with not even a spectre at the helm, but the Real American Hero section is getting some steady photos these days.
  • And for the Facebook-inclined, the GIJoe Discussion Group occasionally has some gems like O-ring design sketches or original boxart/cardart from private collections.
  • Don't forget the OWN Facebook Group, too!

Regarding the name, I kinda like "MobileStrikeForce.com" because the GIJoe is implied and it gives you flexibility to include other subjects later on, if you decide.

Like we discussed before Chad I think this is a great idea. It helps spread the word and since it looks like Hasbro is putting out less and less product maybe some collectors will return to their roots. Not very computer literate as for as helping out on the blog but will help in any other way to promote O-Ring Joes

Thanks guys and thanks for the information about the other sites. I would love for the site to be "hub" of sorts, being able to share what others are doing all over.

That would soo amazing! And don't forget that there are many small foreign groups too which are dedicated to mostly O-Ring Joes. So it could be a great site for news and to let each other know.

Hopefully I can connect with people from other sites that can help me tie these different groups together.
